Licensed Illinois Architect and CSI Certified Document Technologist (CDT), Steve Martinez is a 40-year veteran of the construction and commercial real estate industry. Steve’s role is comprised of tenant improvement assignments, commercial build-to-suit projects, adaptive reuse projects, office renovations, as well as development opportunities. Most of these assignments have been either complicated or multi-phased, or both. Steve uses his experience to develop and manage efficient teams. He is known for his ability to manage complicated projects successfully in terms of both cost and schedule while working closely with the client. He is highly respected by his clients, receiving numerous accolades for his contribution to their successful projects.
His knowledge of project requirements coupled with available systems and technology, and his ability to think out of the box and maintain the big picture, contributes to this success. He has managed corporate headquarters expansions, renovations including 20 story office towers, and reorganizations throughout the country. Steve has been involved in many speculative, as well as build-to-suit projects, and both interior improvements and shell and core development. The majority of Steve’s experience has been as a project consultant representing owners, but he has also worked as a general contractor both in the office and in the field. This background coupled with his architectural education provides him with a technical and functional insight to the three main components of any project (owner, architect, and contractor).
